It’s been about a year since first meeting Gary Lux and Chris Haynes of The Bennett Group’s, Music and Concert Division.
My first conversations with Chris Haynes many years ago revealed his expertise and resourcefulness while working with Gary at 5.1 Entertainment. Mr. Lux is renown as a top surround music mixer and recipient of many Surround Music Awards including Best Concert Mix 2005, Ben Harper and The Blind Boys of Alabama “Live at The Apollo”. |

Neyrinck, Pro Tools surround plug-in experts have released a new product called Mix 51. Mix 51 is a 5.1 surround panning and mixing plug-in (RTAS) for Pro Tools LE/M-Powered systems with six or more outputs such Mbox 2 Pro, Digi 003, or FireWire 410. It is priced to sell at just $189 MSRP, bringing surround capability which was previously the realm of HD users to everyone with enough outputs and a Pro Tools LE system. |

Digidesign have announced that they have now approved and are supporting the Apple 8-Core Mac Pro
This is exciting news for the sheer number of native (RTAS) plug ins, soft synths and host based processes that can be run on the 8-Core machine. Some Pro Tools users members have already told us that they have using the 8-Core machine without any issues for some time, but now that the machine is officially approved by the manufacturer uptake is likely to increase, and we expect to see this as the de facto machine for HD Accel for some time.
You'll need to make sure you're running Pro Tools HD version 7.3.1 cs3 or higher.

Last Sunday, I was the sound mixer for the Big Brother 2007 (Australia) Launch show on Channel Ten.
The show was taped on Saturday evening, edited during the night, sound posted early Sunday morning, checked and delivered Sunday afternoon and aired on Sunday night.
DigiBeta video tapes arrived, along with a USB hard drive with an OMF of the segment. The video was digitised and the OMF loaded into Pro Tools.

KB Covers is providing durable shortcut keyboard covers for Pro Tools users!
I just got my hands on these here recently and I was suprised at how well made they actually are, and not just a simple cheap cover that would fall apart over time.
