Win XP SP 3..... AMD Athlon XP 2400+..... 2.00 GHz... 2.00 GB of RAM...... pro tools 7.3.... format drive's like 20 times...works then dosent work...did everything possible ..... my Hardware Manager acts stupid ... please any info would be great.. i really need this fixed i love pro tools but hate how it acts sometimes hope my specs help plz help me thankx

Hey Chris Nice to check you out here !!!!! I'm a percussionist by trade but have had my M box, Protools 7.3.1, MacBook Pro (intel) for a couple of years now. Just recently I realized that I could use the ignition pack stuff , however the Sampletank SE 2 keeps saying that the instruments are missing I can't figure out how to correct this. I also cannot use the Xpand! .... that says that the dat.file cannot be found ..... I've done all that I can do to try to figure these things, but to no avail. Love this system !!!! Can you help me to get over this hump please ? Thanks in advance ............. Jr.

Hi Chris!
Im a music tech student at South Stafford University, now doing a module in Pro tools, soon taking the 101 course. Im considering buying pro tools 8. Can you tell me whats the cheapest solution?
I only need to run the software at home, because i got pro tools at the University, so im not looking at a expensive set up at the moment.
If you could help me i would appreciate.

I have Pro tools LE 7.4 with Mbox2 and everytime i upload audio it exit out. When i rip my instrumentals in My media player it says it cant download media information form this CD. the tracks,artist,album will be identified as "UNKNOWN" in your library. FOr best, connect to the internet or manually add media information for the CD
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??????  PLEASE HELP ME

Hello there Chris, Im a ex-recording engineer by trade, now doing Custom Audio/Video installs. I had ProTools Training in school (FullSail) graduated in 2001, and have been messing around with basic mixing since leaving the industry. Im using 7.4 with a MBox, my friend gave to me when he left for deployment to the middle east. I look forward to what I will learn (or re learn) from this family.

Hi! Chris - I am a digital video production teacher who has been asked to wander into ProTools with my high school media students. We use Mac G5s and FCP - this is a new one on me! Hopefully I will be working with some staffers from HGTV who live in the area and perhaps take a class on ProTools at a local techie college this summer. You might say that I am trying to getting my jump on the game joining this community.

Hi Chris! Im a drummer with many original songs, hence the protools studio. But Im weak with the input/output knowledge, im realizing is required to get recording. Your site looks to be helpful and informative and I plan to avail myself of any and all info I can gather.

Thanks for the invitation. I have ProTools LE and an MBox 2 currently. I am also using an M-Audio O2 (which I'm not real happy with). Since you deal with this type of equipment on a daily basis, can you recommend a decent MIDI controller that exceeds the capabilities of my current MIDI controller? Thanks.

Hey Chris...
I was wondering do you think DigiDesign will come out with a 64 bit version of ProTools soon? This 32 bit crap is slowing my cpu down!
Like everybody else I truly thank you for this site! I'm a student (post-grad), and I've been using Pro Tools for at least 4 years, on and off. I believe that we all NEEDED a site like this b/c everybody does things differently, for the most part, and this site allows us to assist each other when our knowledge can't take us past our problems...BUT as a collective brain we all can conquer pretty much any Pro Tools issue!
