Digi announced this afternoon that they have completed testing the new 2009 (Nehalem) Apple Mac Pro, and that it is compatible with the current version of Pro Tools HD 8. It appears that there is no need to even use any software patch or "CS" release version of the software, which means that a new HD system and Mac Pro should work great together out of the box, without any tedious mucking around with downloading updates.

Here are some performance charts from Apple's website... can't wait to see how this translates into actual RTAS performance....

I may have mis-quoted my question: Will a MacPro Running 6GBRAM 640-7200RPM main drive bay, 1tb-7200 secondary drive bay run Pro Tools M-Powered. I am a noob to Pro Tools.
