Ok maybe not...
Checking out all the blogs and forums on this site and noticed that there seems to be no distinct difference between these blogs and the forums. Which is cool but hey... blog it up.
Not sure if I have much to offer in extreme PTools guru world but I do have some industry experience... about 10 years.
I looked recently at a blog post that was asking about when to "fire a client". Now if you're wondering when a good time would be then you've probably waited too long already. Film makers now adays want to use audio and music people to the extreme for as little money as possible. I've worked in audio post... and the music biz for a long time now... film peeps want to use audio and music people for as much as they can. No contracts... back end money that never comes... suddenly becoming audio or music professionals... yeah it's a funny world.
Bottom line handling your clients would be to make your own contract... set your terms ahead of time and abide by them... if they go against your terms then they are in breach of your agreement and you can use that for an exit strategy. Last thing you want to do is tie yourself up with a never ending project. Eventually the money doesn't justify working with unprofessional people.
I have been working as a music supervisor for a couple projects recently and now all of the sudden the people that hired me are music pros... they're telling me what goes in before I can even blink... funny.
ahhh anyhow, more to come.
