CHANGING TEMPO IN PRO TOOLS 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello everyone.

Question for you all and I hope someone can help me solve it.

I am trying to change the tempo in my Pro Tools Recording but I am having issues with it. When I go to tempo and type in the BPM, the tempo changes on the recorded audio, except the MIDI that I have quantized.

Here is the scenario. I have rewired my drums from Reason and everything is fine. I can easily change the tempo on that.

However, I am using a native plugin (Trilogy) and using my Oxygen to create bass lines. When I finish the bass line, I then Quantize to match the beats of the drums.

Now I want to change the tempo because I think it is too slow. When I do change the tempo, only the Drums change tempo, not the bass line that was used Midi.

Noel

How are you changing the tempo (are you using a manual tempo [from the transport] or using the tempo track in conductor mode?

I am not sure what you mean by this. So, if I am on the main mix screen, I click on the tab that say tempo +. Then I input the tempo. HOwever, this only changes the audio, not the midi.

Let me know what you think

For the tempo changes added to the tempo ruler, to which you refer, to take affect, the conductor button on the transport needs to be activated (highlighted).

Hey thanks everyone! I figured it out. You have to select all, make sure everything is in ticks, then change the elastic to polyphonic, and then change tempo. Works great.

Thanks
