That is a fine looking HUI.

Does anyone know if it has new Pres in or are they the same as in the old Control24 (not brilliant)?

Hopefully digi will be replacing my ill Control24 for the new and improved C24!!

Happy Happy Happy if they do.

I installed a C24 last weekend and here are a few thoughts:

The desk is solid, and feels well made. The external power supply removed some of my fears that we'd be in for "more of the same" issues so common with its predecessor. The buttons, scrub wheel and controls have a nice solid feel to them, too.

The monitor section on the C|24 sounds much cleaner and "tighter" than the Control|24. The control room pot doesn't "step" in increments in the same, ugly way either.

While the ergonomics of the desk [ie. placement of scribble strips above the rotary knobs] are debatable, I generally am quite excited by the functionality and style of the desk. The scribble strips have two rows. It's not an Icon, but it's certainly not a Mackie either.

I'll give the pre's a thorough workout over the next few weeks. I think they sound "fine", ie. transparent and clean, if a bit unremarkable. They are the same as the pre's in the Digi 003, so an improvement over the Control 24 and Digi 002.

It's a very nice desk with a lot of design and function for the money. Whether it's worth it to you or not to upgrade from a Control 24, is an individual decision. Mine was based on a rumor that Digi will soon stop supporting the Control 24, and the trouble I was having getting replacement scribble strips.

My practical dream rig includes this. (My "Practical" dream rig consists items that I may/ and will eventually upgrade into)

Mmm, pretty.
