I want to hit "record" play guitar at the same time so I'm thinking of picking up this wireless "Pedal Operated Keyboard"

Has anyone used this? Is it easier to use then MIDI? Does it run out of battery every 5 minutes or loose it's connection randomly? Other suggestions? Thanks!

Justin, there's a wireless footswitch that types actual keystrokes (or sets of keystrokes) when you press the buttons.

That's the best way I've found yet by far. You can not only do the basic functions like record stop, etc., but also very complicated stuff too. You can do anything you would with a keyboard. Best thing about it is how easy it is to set up and use. Good luck!
