I have a mac Pro Quad - Digi 002 Rack, Pro Tools LE set up with also a M-Audio Octane. I just bought a Behringer Powerplay Pro 8 Headphone amp.

I think I hooked it up correctly, this is the set up;

On the Digi 002 Rack, I have the Monitor output left & right hooked up to the Behringer Main input 1 - Right (balanced) and Left (mono). Of course I have left to left and right to right.

Is This correct?

I'm really new at recording and the terminology is sometimes difficult to understand, so can you go through the steps on how to set up the controls so I can use my headphone amp. I had someone try and explain on how to set up in Pro Tools and it was way over my head, it seemed like it was a lot of work just to get sound out of the headphone amp. I have 8 inputs, I will prpbably be using 4 at one time.

Again, I'm new at this so please go through each step. Thanks so much!

can you please...................tell me where on the back of the Digi 002 rack I hook up the cables so I can hook them up the a headphone amp.

I'm not going to go into step-by-step stuff, but there are a couple of ways you could set it up.

1) connect the headphone out of the 002 to the input on your headphone amp. You will then be using each tracks volume fader to adjust what is being sent to the headphones (and also your studio monitors).

2) connect a pair of outputs of the 002 to the headphone amp inputs, for instance outputs 7/8. You then could use a send (to outputs 7/8) on each channel and use those to create your headphone mix. With this setup you could have one mix that you are hearing in your monitors and a different mix for your musicians.
