Free Plugins? 1 Year, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hey guys...this is my first post. I'm wondering if there are any decent free pluginis for protools that I can download. I'm a pretty new protools user. I'm just looking to get a few easy plugins for added effect potential. Any tips for me? Thanks, Ryan

in fact there are TONS of free plugin ins out there. problem being most of them are VST. not so much of a problem if you get FXpansion's VST to RTAS wrapper though. Then you can utilise sites such as vstplanet.com and many others. Do a Google and see what u can find

also digidesign have some on their site! check out the bomb factory ones here http://digidesign.com/index.cfm?&key=/products/details.cfm&itemid=4201&template=overview&langid=1

and EQ III here http://digidesign.com/index.cfm?&key=/products/details.cfm&itemid=4562&template=overview&langid=1

hope this helps!

Roger Nichols has a free RTAS plug in called the inspector. But I have yet to get it to work. I'm a total newbie though

Although there are a lot of smart programmers out there I don't trust free plug-ins. For the simple fact that nothing in life is FREE! I'd rather have the peace of mind by saving up and buying a quality bundle of plugins that i kno will work and I will have support if anything goes wrong then to worry about a free plug in crashing or somehow destroying a session I've been working on. Thats just my opinion. The reason certain plug-ins are more expensive is because they are a lot better. It's like comparing the Dollar Menu at McDonalds with a 5 star restaurant.
