QUOTE: there are two things you have to worry about it seems. Not only treating the room with traps for mixing purposes, but it sounds like you also want to treat it for recording vocals into a mic. Realtraps has a portable vocal booth just for this purpose: http://www.realtraps.com/p_pvb.htm Treating the room is a great thing to do...but you'll still get noises from around the room that you probably don't want recorded (computer, traffic, etc.) This will help isolate you a bit.
Now treating the room for mixing is another thing you want to tackle. Always start with low end treatment...bass traps. You can look at the links above or if you are handy enough, purchase some OC 703/705 in 2" to 4" sizes and place them in your corners (wrapped in fabric). You can either just set them in the corners...or build cool frames for them so they look more a part of the room.
After that, treat your first reflection points. You can still use OC 703 for the first reflection points. Just build a frame for the fiberglass and hang them on the wall.
Here's a big list of distributors of fiberglass: http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=179563
Everything you said is exactly what I wanna do. I just want to find the insulation locally, but don't know where to get it. Hopefull I'll find something on that list you posted. Thanks a lot!

Someone on another forum brought up a good point to me. Which way should I have the mic facing? I know with the PVB, real traps has the mic in the direction where the vocalist faces the corner of the booth. However, given the sensitivity of the front of a condensor mic, wouldn't this still pic up noise from behind the vocalist. Someone said I should face the mic away from my foam corner so the mic won't pick up anything behind the vocalist. But then wouldn't the warmth of their voice escap into the rest of the room?

Just look under insulation in your local phone book (or that of the nearest large city in your area) and call around.
You'll find some play in their pricing, so chances are you'll eventually find a pretty good deal!
About 2 years ago, I was able to pick up a pack of 12 4'x2'x2" panels for around $90 if I remember correctly. That made 6 nice panels. I actually made aluminum frames for them using corner beads (usually used for dry walling) loosely following this design DIY Broadband Absorber Panels.
