"CPU shortage remove some pug ins" msg 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
LE 7.4.2, new MAC 10, digi 003R, MOTU 828 MkII, 16 Newbe with analoug background on 2"

My Q is this, will placeing a plugin on standby equate to removing it? Is there any other method short of resetting inserts to None. I hate to unwind what I had set up. All the plug ins were OTB in the LE. Unfortnatly as to the exact error msg and the exact hdwr setting, the notes are at the studio and I am at day job. But still the question remains the same.

I did make the Hdwr adjustment noted in the error message, had no more problems, but did not push it to see how far the new setting would take me. When it happend I had;
Voc Limiter on one channel insert, 3 auxes each with 1 D verb, 1 med tap echo, 1 phase meter. Also a Stereo bridge Vu meter on Master.

You can deactivate a plug-in by Cmd-Ctrl-clicking on the plug-in in the slot (not the open plug-in windwo) or right clicking it and choosing deactivate. It can then be re-activated later with the proper setting still stored.

I am still getting this error message. I got great advise on how to disable a plug in and have used that. It is now my theroy that I am trying to record way too much in one session file. We are running 16 tracks during rehearsals that last arround 2 hours. These sessions are my "shake down cruise" so we are not on the hook to a client. It is near the end of the evening that the remove some plug ins message comes up.

If this is the problem, I am also woundering if I should go back into old sessions and split them into smaller sessions. The error also shows up during playback.

How do others handle long sessions?

Why not get rid of all plug-ins during a recording session? Is there a reason that you have 3 reverbs running during recording?

What is the exact computer model you are using? What are you recording to?

there is a difference between deactivating a plugin and bypassing a plugin. Bypassing (insert turns blue) does not free up CPU power...deactivating does, but you can't automate it to do so.
