Hello, i'd like to know what is the advantage (if one at all) of haveing a separate designated drive to store your audio files from pro tools in over just storing on your main c drive???? Thanks for any help you can give me

The advantage of separate drives is the speed of access to the data, and the amount of data that can be moved, regarding PT this mean # of tracks you can record and playback. If you use the system drive, then the system will be accessing in for system and program related stuff and the drive will not be able to find and transfer as much audio data.
