Sample rate conversion problem. Help please!! 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi everybody!
First post here, and in desperate need of help!!

I'm importing some 48KHz/24bit files into a PT session that's 44,1KHz/24bit. I don't know why but I get this awful noise. It's clearly a problem with the conversion. I tried all the settings and with different files into different projects. Always the same noise, or even worse: only noise!

Any ideas? Am I missing anything?

Thanks very much in advance and I hope to post something helpful next time!

Hi!
Sorry, my system is HD3 and I'm using Apogee DA/AD16x. The computer is a G5 intel mac.
If you need more info, let me know.
I still don't have a clue. It's most annoying!! I have to do the conversion with nuendo and then import the files already at 44,1K. It doesn't make any sense!!

Thanks very much in advance!!

Jordi

Do you have a G5 or an Intel mac, those are two different processors? What version of PT? What version of OS? Etc. For anyone to even have a chance of diagnosing a problem via a forum, you have to provide ALL the info.

Give some details about what and how you are importing, for example are you using "Import Audio", "Import Session Data", drag & drop via the workspace, etc.

If you use "Import Audio" what are the specifics of the file you are trying to import? You can see this info near the bottom of the import window.

The MacOs is 10.4.9
I thought it was a G5, but that's probably because they look the same, right?
It's a 2 x 2'66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xenon

PT version is 7.3.1

I'm using Import Audio and I tried several modes, from fast to tweakhead.
The file is 48k 24 bit mono.

Sorry if I don't give much info. I don't know much about computers. And thanks very much for your help, Chris!!

You have a Mac Pro then (for future reference).

Have you installed the latest cs for 7.3.1 (I believe it is cs6)?

Have you tried bringing the files into a session with the same parameters (48/24), that would not require any conversions? If you play the files from the import window or from the finder are they okay?
