Should I bother Digi Tech Support for this? 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I feel very selfish starting an entire thread regarding my problem, but I have extensively researched this for a few weeks, and have not come up with anything. I hate being that new person who starts a whole thread about their amateur dilemma, but I can't think of anything else to do, so here it goes:

Specs:
Macbook, Leopard (10.5.2), 160gb hard drive, 2.2ghz Dual Core Processor, 2gb memory.I am running Pro Tools LE 7.4 on an Mbox2, headphones are Sennheiser HD595.

Problem(s):
I will be in Pro Tools, have four audio tracks, no effects, and my CPU usage will max out! This seems ridiculous, because I work with barely any problem on the old Tiger iMacs at school that have only 1gb of memory. I have adjusted my buffer settings, processor settings, everything! I never run any other applications at the same time as Pro Tools. Is this a problem with Pro Tools or my Mac? (Or me, haha)

On a similar note, I can be playing a session with no effects, just audio tracks, hit the spacebar, go get a drink (I only use this example to emphasize that I will stop it and not do anything with the computer), hit the spacebar again, and the playback cursor will be moving, I will be getting levels in the meters, etc. Everything LOOKS like it's playing fine, except I am getting no sound out of my head phones. This has happened in both the mix window and the edit window.

From everyone I've talked to, they have relayed to me that this is a very odd problem, which it also seems odd to me, but I'm not quite an advanced PT user yet, so is there anything I am missing?

Thank you for reading!

If you look on Digidesign's web site - PT 7.4 is only supported up to OS X Tiger.
I've heard of people successfully running 7.4 under Leopard but also others with the same problem you have.

Ugh, that's what I figured. I heard a rumor that Digi will announce full compatibility next week, so fingers crossed!!

Thank you!
