Maybe a problem with the firewire cord? 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey there. Pro Tools hasn't given me any big problems before, but today when I plugged it in (Mbox 2 Pro), the sound kept cutting in and out when I armed a track.
I'm pretty sure I didn't do any updates to my Mac, so my immediate thought was that it must be the Firewire cord. I was wondering, if it /is/ the cord, can I buy a new one? Or does it have to be like some special Digidesign Firewire cord or something?

from my experience, it doesn't have to be a digidesign branded cable. i've used belkin cables, homemade ones, and other questionable cabling to wire my mbox and it doesn't seem to mind. i would think you would need to update the mbox firmware, or maybe the mbox is faulty somewhere in the line. double check your double checks, and post back.
