Hi. Firstly im a guitarist but i do own a Roland Fantom X8 which i play poorly. However, I need to record a song for this guitar idol competition and i want to use my fantom to provide some sounds, strings, bass and so forth. Now im well aware of the in- built recording on the fantom and use it often but seeing as this song is on a much larger scale i need to use pro tools. I have pro tools MBOX 2.
What i want to be able to do is record these sounds into pro tools, preferably with the midi information so that i can correct my awful piano playing. Also i want to hear the fantoms sounds, not plugins. What im unsure about it how to connect my fantom to my mbox/Mac in order to do this. Do i need to connect the X8 to the Mbox or directly to my mac??
Any idea's??
The mbox basically allows me to connect tthings via a mic, DI and Line (TRS). Both the Line and DI are 1/4inch connectors. I can also connect via S/Pdif. Midi wise there is an in and out.
Anyhow, unfortunately im pretty clueless regarding computers and keyboards, much more comfortable with guitar stuff so any help is greatly appreciated!!
