Is it possible to record MIDI in Pro Tools as audio, where it shows waves being recorded rather than the midi dots and lines?
I would rather treat my MIDI as recorded audio with waves.

remember, MIDI is not audio...it's only a computer language used to trigger instruments that play audio. MIDI just tells the computer "play this note with this instrument"

Yes you are correct, which is why it is actually very important to print it to audio so that you have the actual sound that you are wanting to keep. Midi, in my opinion, is not my favorite in comparison to the actual instrument you are trying to get out of it.
