Crackling Pop Sound 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
When I'm recording every so often I hear a crackling pop sound.

I have Pro Tools LE, with Digi 002 Rack & M-Audio Ocatane.

This is my current set up in my hardware;

Peripherals - Digi 002

Digital Input - RCA = S/PDIF, optical+ADAT

Clock source - internal

sample rate - 44.1 *

*( both digi 002 & M-Audio octane is set at 44.1 )

Is this set up correctly? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

There was a thread about this beast not long back, sounds like bacon frying? Have a little search around amigo, seek and thee shall find................ (is your session set to the same sample rate as well?)

I have a similar problem (I am running 7 LE). It is almost like static or something...

It seems like my problem has something to do with using certain sounds in SampleTank. I only am getting it on longer samples, B-3, etc. I have had a few instances where the crackling has turned into some sort of diabolical feedback loop requiring a hard shutdown.
Sorry this isn't more helpful, but I would be interested to know if you are using SampleTank.

thanks,

No I don't have sample tank. Someone told me to switch the hardware setup clock source to ADAT(because I have Octane).
So far, no pops, but I only tried to record once, I'll be spending more time over the weekend.
