Mbox 2 Pro connectivity 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I'm looking into the purchase of the Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Firewire Interface.

I currently use a Focusrite Saffire which is also firewire. If I power it with the external power supply I can use a 6pin to 4pin firewire adapter that allows me to attach to it to my laptop.

Since the Mbox 2 Pro also allows you to use an external power supply, does the same hold true? Can I use my 6pin to 4pin adapter to interface with my laptop?
Thank you all in advance.
Peace,
g

If the MBox 2 Pro is externally powered then, yes, I believe it can be used with a 4 pin cable.
