stereo regions 2 Months ago Karma: 0  
does anyone know how to convert stereo file regions to mono? Ive been importing regions and they always come in stereo and i need them as mono regions. any help would be greatly appreciated. -ian

they're coming in as stereo because they ARE stereo files.
Converting them to mono...you'll have to export or bounce them down as mono (summed) files. Or pan them center and bus them to a mono track...then re-record.

Or if they are the same thing on both L/R channels create two mono tracks and drag the regions to those mono tracks...then delete one of the tracks.

Obviously, if there is any stereo information this will be lost.

If you right-click on the stereo track name plate you can select "Split into mono" and Pro Tools duplicates the track into two mono tracks panned L & R, and leaves the stereo track.
