New to recording... 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I bet you see these threads everyday so I apologize in advance.

I recently purchased both a Line 6 POD X3 Live and a M-Audio MobilePre. I run two XLR cables from the mono outs on the X3 Live into channel 1 and 2 on the back of the MobilePre.

A friend of mine has Pro Tools M-Powered so I went over to his house and we tried it out - this way I could decide if I wanted to buy Pro Tools M-Powered or not. So we got it all hooked up and started playing, created a new session, created tracks, etc. and hit the enable recording button.

With that button engaged it sounds fantastic through the monitors and even headphones - even while recording it sounded perfect but when we played the recording back it sounded a lot worse. Like overly compressed and fizzy if that makes sense?

Any idea what would be causing this?

Thanks in advance, you guys rock.

1. Check your input levels. If its to hot or not hot enough it will sound funky.
2. Check you sample rate. If its to low it will sound funky.
3. See if you stereo out of the line6 going mono to the interface or vice versa it will sound funky.
4. Check the pan on the track if you recorded stereo and are panned center or vice versa it will sound funky.

Good Luck
