I just want to know because when im editing my project a bunch of light regions appear in the bin....I want to know...the more regions you have in the bin, does that slows down or effect you in anyway?

Well, it's kind of like clutter. It accumulates over time and makes it harder to find stuff for you, and more stuff that Pro Tools has to keep track of.

Eventually, it could bog down your session (but we're talking hundreds of regions in your bin before most systems would notice anything)

Once I finish all of my edits for a song, I'll usually save a copy of my session, consolidate all of my tracks, and clear out all unused regions. That keeps my session nice and tidy when I'm ready to mix.
